In Beetlejuice, Charles Deetz, Delia Deetz, and their daughter Lydia Deetz moved into a house, which still kept the spirits of the previous owners, Adam and Barbara Maitland. Adam and Barbara were told that if they wanted the Deetz family to leave, they would have to hire the bio-exorcist Beetlejuice to scare the family away. Lydia decided to help Adam and Barbara, and called upon Beetlejuice by saying his name three times. They found out the hard way that Beetlejuice is a crude ghost who like to invader people's personal space.
