When Stanley Roper left Santa Monica, Ralph Furley took over as the landlord of the Hacienda Palms Apartments. Like Mr. Roper before him, Mr. Furley was tricked into believing that Jack Tripper was gay in order for him to continue living with Janet Wood and Chrissy Snow. The big difference between Roper and Furley was that Mr. Furley thought of himself as a real ladies man, even though women showed no interest in him.
